Inspired by the memories of living with cats, and the comfort they brought during the early years of childhood, Kanako Okamoto paints not only their gestures and expressions, but also the traces these cats leave behind: the cool touch of fur, a tail brushing past, a fleeting shadow. In Cat Studies, the artist invites viewers to reconnect with their own memories and the small stories shared with cats.
